My name’s Darek. I’m 30+ years old and I’m from Poland. I live and work in Canada, in the heart of the beautiful Rocky Mountains – Banff, Alberta.
Through my work as a hotel front desk agent, I meet hundreds of wonderful & interesting people.I share their passion – travelling and discovering the world. I just prefer do it a little bit different way…I travel and dream about travelling by helping others and volunteering with All Hands and Hearts. In May last year, I joined the All Hands Volunteers family in Nepal. All Hands invited me to Thulo Pakhar, Sindupalchuk – where I helped in rebuilding 2 schools affected by
the earthquake in the year 2015 – Chamuna and Kakaling. It was an amazing, humbling & life-changing
experience. In Thulo Pakhar I met many caring, generous and kind-hearted people, who quickly become
my family. Working alongside my All Hands brothers & sisters helped me understand what’s really important in
life and told my a lot about myself and others.
I’m excited and honoured to run and support All Hands and Hearts in the NYC Half-Marathon. I believe that it’s our responsibility to help others & support initiatives that lead to a better tomorrow. Running in NYC Half-Marathon – next to thousands of people, and being supported and watched by millions on the streets of New York and in front of TV, will be a great opportunity for me to promote volunteering & amp; fundraising for people that are less fortunate than us.
I hope that I will not let my anyone down while running with AHAH team, and together with our
supporters we can raise more money to fund our projects around the world.
Please join us on March 18th on the streets of NYC! We are Better Together.
