HAPPY HEARTS FUND BUILDS ITS 90TH SCHOOL

Since Happy Hearts Fund was founded in 2005, it’s been our mission to build or rebuild schools in areas that have been impacted by natural disasters.

And as of today — thanks to our donors, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters like you — we are proud and excited to announce that we’ve officially reached 90 schools!

Our 90th school has been built in partnership with the Carlos Slim Foundation. We couldn’t have built this school or reached this 90th-school milestone without the help of each one of our partners. We would like to extend many heartfelt thanks to all of our supporters!

Because this community is often impacted by annual floods, the school was built to be disaster-resistant so that its 180 students (in grades one through six) can receive their education in a safe environment.

In addition, the school contains a brand new computer lab as well as a whimsical playground that offers a splash of color and fun against the school’s sustainable white hue; this area of Mexico actually gets so hot that having a white exterior will help keep the building a bit cooler in an energy-efficient manner.
