We saw spots before our eyes at our polka-dot themed Sunset Cocktails for a Cause benefit!

For the fourth year in a row, our friends at the Helping Hearts Council hosted this fundraising cocktail party, raffle, and silent auction, and we’re excited to announce that this year’s goal was reached! The event raised enough money to build a computer lab for 205 students at Manililisid High School in Leyte, Philippines — a school that was damaged by Typhoon Haiyan.

Guests mingled on the rooftop of Bar d’Eau in Manhattan and noshed on light bites from Koi Soho, while sipping libations provided by Willa Vodka.

Our raffle item was a huge hit — a one-of-a-kind 50th-anniversary Sports Illustrated Swimsuit coffee table book autographed by HHF founder Petra Nemcova (who has graced the mag’s cover). Silent auction items were popular, too, and included designer outfits and accessories, gift certificates and other luxuries.

The sun set quickly — after providing us with a gorgeous pink, yellow, and blue sky above the NYC skyline — but the night was just as enjoyable; the rooftop at Bar d’Eau is a chic, sophisticated setting.

At the end of the evening, we couldn’t resist surprising HHF Director of Operations Olga Nemcova with a cake for her birthday which had just passed. She loved it!

We have to send many, many thanks to the Helping Hearts Council, and to all of our sponsors, guests, and supporters of this fundraising event! We had a great time and hope you did, too!
